Puerto Rico Dance and Culture Retreat

April 10-April 17

Hi I’m Juliette aka (Julieta) join me in exploring my ancestral home of Puerto Rico through dance, and culture. In true Gemini style, I want to show you the dual essence of my ancestor’s island: Ritmo ( Rhythm ) in San Juan & Reposo ( Relaxation ) in Rincon.

Ritmo…

Dance with me in San Juan as we shimmy along to Salsa and feel the grounded rhythm of Bomba. Become part of the joyful energetic nightlife showing off your skills you learned in class.

Reposo …

Relax on the pristine white beaches while staring out at crystal clear waters. Let go of the stresses of home sitting out on a deck overlooking the lush tropical canopy of Rincon’s mountains.

Two

Cities

Part 1: Ritmo ( Rhythm) in San Juan April 10-April 14, 2025

Immerse yourself in the vibrant rhythms and rich heritage of San Juan through dance and cultural activities. Pick your own adventure from trying out authentic Puerto Rican dance  (salsa, bomba, and reggaeton) or go straight to exploring the heart of San Juan and its historical sites. Our nights will be spent becoming one with the nightlife of the city. Watch or participate in the Bomba circle’s of Sancturce Monday night, and feel the beat in the hottest reggaeton clubs. We’ll finish out our time in San Juan by venturing to a Taino Cave and visit Loiza to dance Bomba on the beach.

Part 2: Reposo ( Relax) in Rincon April 14-April 17, 2025

We’ll make our way through to the west side of the island in our private transport to surround ourselves with the natural beauty of Puerto Rico's coast and mountain tops. Relax on the yoga deck of our villa or float in the pool. Here is where we will quiet the mind and restore the body. Mornings we’ll start with yoga to be greeted by a breakfast made with organic fresh produce from the land. Later we’ll lay out on the sand at one of Puerto Rico’s finest beaches. Finish off the day with a massage or just chill. Our last night we’ll party with the locals at a beach drum circle to dance or keep the beat of the drum.

Puerto Rican Dance Styles

Bomba:

Learn this rhythmic Afro-Puerto Rican dance style that traces its roots to the island’s African ancestors. It’s powerful beats and message of resistance will uplift you.

Salsa:

Put on your dancing shoes to dance this feisty style. Whether you want to shine on your own with fast footwork or get close to a partner this style is for everyone.
